env4, Cedarbrae C I, Canada

Page history last edited by Brandon Zoras 12 years, 1 month ago

Hello my name is Brandon Zoras and I am a science teacher at Cedarbrae C.I. in Toronto, Canada.  This is my 3rd year teaching.  I have completed my bachelors of science in biochemistry (4 year program) at the University of Toronto, teachers college at OISE/University of Toronto (1 year program) and now finishing my masters in education at OISE/University of Toronto (3 years part time).  I can teach chemistry, biology and science.  At Cedarbrae I am part of the Environment Club, Weight Lifting Club, PLC (staff development) Team and have coached football and basketball last year.

I am 27 years old and I was born here in Toronto.  My mother is Canadian and my father Greek.  Outside of school, I work part time at a community centre, I like to read, and work on planning fun lessons.  I listen to Hip Hop and Top 40 music and like sports and cars as well.  I live in a house now and will be moving to a condominium this summer.

I have created a wiki for my students so they can interact and make their own groups and collaborate together.  Please feel free to look at the wiki, http://globalteenagerproject.wikispaces.com

For computer equipment my class will be using a class set of Netbooks (small laptops) that we can sign out from our school.  I will be using my laptop and projector so I am able to do video chat if other groups are available.  Our time zone is -5 GMT, so it may be hard to connect to some schools.  We will be taking about a day a week to work on this project.

Cedarbrae is an amazing school with about 1300 students.  Half of the students in the school so about 650 English is their second language.  We have students from many countries around the world.  We have a big focus on sports such as swimming, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and baseball.  The arts department is popular with traditional art, computer, and drama.  Our science department has a great teaching staff with teachers who specialize in physics, chemistry, biology and environmental studies.

I work with Ashlyn who is ENV3 and we are one class over so please feel free to browse her introduction page to learn even more about Toronto and also Cedarbrae C.I.

Thanks

Brandon Zoras, (ENV4)

I am on the left most side, this is our Grade 11 Chemistry Class and the back of our classroom where we do experiments.
